
Deve Swaim, M.S. and President, Heart Zones Education has over 30 years experience as a health and physical education teacher including 15 years as an innovator developing and leading professional development trainings using heart rate monitors. She is the co-author of two textbooks that are the foundation of the curriculum. Deve travels extensively to deliver trainings and workshops at schools throughout the USA. Her teaching experience extends from middle school through university levels with expertise in curriculum development and teacher certification.

Deve is an avid fitness and movement enthusiast, a mother, an artist, and a lifetime resident of Oregon. As Deve explains, “Teaching health education to middle schools students has been one of my professional high points, because when kids learn, their enthusiasm is contagious and exciting”. Sally Edwards, MA, MBA is a veteran physical educator and the creator of the Heart Zones Training system. This was the first easy to use, practical methodology to measure cardiovascular load using a heart rate monitor. Sally has authored more than 20 books on health and fitness including the popular Heart Rate Monitor GUIDEBOOK. This professional triathlete is a 16-time Ironman finisher, a member of the Triathlon Hall of Fame, and past winner of the Western States 100 Mile Endurance Run. Today, she uses her passion for health and fitness to lead seminars and workshops around the world for health and physical education teachers, athletes, and fitness enthusiasts on how to get fit for a lifetime.
