Sally Edwards, The Head Heart - Sally is founder of Heart Zones USA, and is the leader of the nation's crusade to get America to lead an Active Healthy Lifestyle. Having written over twenty books on training, Sally is an expert on technology and cardiovascular fitness. As an elite athlete, Sally competed in the Olympic Marathon Trials was a Masters record-holder at Ironman Triathlon. However, it is her role as Spokesperson for the Danskin Women's Triathlon Series, that currently speaks motivation to all current and future athletes about the importance of making your health and your goals a priority and looking at them in the mirror every morning.
Dr. Carl Foster, Ph.D. - Dr. Carl is a Professor at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, Department of Exercise and Sport Science and is the Director of the Human Performance Laboratory there. He has also served as past President of the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM). Dr. Carl has delighted us for years with his humorous approach to fitness, sport medicine, nutrition and current research, from the caveman all the way to the elite athlete.
Pilar Gerasimo - Pilar Gerasimo is the editor-in-chief and founding editor of Experience Life magazine, an award-winning, healthy-way-of-life publication that challenges the conventions of hype and superficiality in the fitness industry. Pilar is the Vice-President of Education for Lifetime Fitness. Pilar is a natural public speaker and a vibrant presence on both radio and TV, and presents and speaks on diverse topics - from emotional fitness, life balance and natural wellness to sustainability and various aspects of the "Lifestyles of Health and Sustainability" (LOHAS) marketplace.
Dr. Phil Skiba, M.D. - Dr. Phil Skiba is a board certified medical doctor with a specialty in sports medicine. Dr. Skiba has been a swim coach since 1994, and has been working with triathletes, runners and cyclists since 2002. Practicing what he preaches, Dr. Skiba has completed numerous triathlons, including Ironman USA, and has also competed in the individual sports of cycling and running. As a sports physician, he works clinically, on the sidelines, and in the training room with high school, collegiate and professional athletes. His research interests and publications include training quantification and performance prediction.
Kathy Kent - Kathy Kent is this year's Conference Director and Heart Zones Master Trainer. She is the former President of Heart Zones Cycling and Personal Training with over ten years exerience in the Heart Zones USA business. A self-proclaimed AOA (Adult-onset-Athlete), Kathy knows what it takes to get moving..from getting off the couch and eliminating "lazy" habits, to standing on the podium or finishing a race. Kathy currently loves walking in the woods, riding her bikes, and swimming open water.
Cindy Miller - Cindy Miller is the President of Heart Zones Coaching, a Heart Zones USA licensee. She is a busy woman, operating both her own personal training studio in southern California and Heart Zones Coaching, the licensing company that is the Official Training Program to the Danskin Triathlon. Heart Zones Coaching provides training plans and personal coaching services to individuals seeking general fitness training, weight loss solutions as well as competitive racing skills. Cindy regularly participates in local sports events and loves leading an Active Healthy Lifestyle.
Dr. Alinda Perrine, O.D., M.P.H. - Dr. Alinda Perrine is a fitness authority, author, National Presenter and Heart Zones Master Trainer. Alinda has combined her medical education with a 25-year career in fitness training to bring her clients and participants an "eagle-eye" approach to fitness. An avid cyclist, Alinda rode her bicycle across the United States using the Heart Zones training system. She currently blends cutting edge opportunities for organizations, schools, and health businesses to embrace Heart Zones services.
Sue Latshaw - Sue won her first triathlon, the 1986 Berkeley Ironhorse Triathlon, then began a thirteen-year professional career directed at learning how to win an Ironman. Highlights of her accomplishments include Ironman Germany Champion (personal best 8:59:31), Triathlon US National Champion, Duathlon US National Champion, XTERRA World Champion, and USOC Triathlete of the Year. She coaches athletes of all abilities using programs that focus on building skills first, then unleashing athletic potential from this strong base. She feels that her primary role is to motivate clients to reach their goals by teaching them the science behind the training and by guiding them to a healthy lifestyle.
Annelise DiGiacomo - Annelise is an ACSM Certified Health Fitness Instructor, USAT Triathlon Coach, USA Elite Level Cycling Coach and a Heart Zones Certified Metabolic Specialist and Master Trainer. Annelise has served as Head Coach for the Heart Zones Team Training for the Danskin Women's Triathlon Series. Her personal philosophy is to coach her clients with the highest degree of integrity and skill. She loves all outdoor sports, her husband and her dog.
Renee Schneidewind - Renee Schneidewind is the National Director of Heart Zones Official Training Programs (HZ OTP) for the Danskin Triathlon. She is a Heart Zones Master Trainer in cycling, coaching, triathlon, and personal training. This past year, the company, HZ OTP trained 1,100 triathletes and 40 coaches for the Danskin Triathlon hosting camps, clinics, one-on-one coaching, and teams. She has completed national USA coaching certifications in triathlon, personal training, and cycling. She is leading with others the Level 1. Triathlon Coaching Certification.
Russ Schneidewind - Russ is a Level 3. Heart Zones Certified Coach and a Level 1. USA Triathlon coach. He is the owner and head swim coach for the Chicago-based Max Multisport Coaching, a successful multisport coaching company geared towards women in Chicago. He has over 12 years of competitive age group triathlon racing experience which he draws from to motivate and train competitive top age groupers.
Cris Kessler has a MSW from the University of Washington. She is a Heart Zones Level 3 Certified Coach and Personal Trainer at Anderson’s Nautilus Fitness Center in Seattle. Cris is also adjunct faculty at the Graduate School of Social Work, University of Washington, Seattle and faculty for the William Glasser Institute. Cris has been a Social Worker for over 25 years and a Heart Zone Trainer for the past five years. She has raced in Triathlons for the last 12 years finishing in the top three in her weight and age class for both Olympic and Half Ironman distances. Cris is co-author with Marla Fields of the new book, “Fresh Off the Couch” and co-founder of “Cognitive Fitness, LLC” a company created to teach those who want to be fit how to use their heart to change their mind about fitness.
