Stephanie Gaiser

Heart Zones Yellow Jersey Trainer
Stephanie Gaiser was the first Heart Zones Trainer to purchase a Heart Zones Cycling Group Training Program. She ran the program during the winter months at Capitol Athletic Club in downtown Sacramento.
Stephanie marketed the group training program and registered 13 people at $199 each. Her gross revenues were just over $2,500. She ran the program herself and didn't have to pay the club a commission because this was part of a special member promotion (another great idea for getting involved in membership!). She was also able to sell heart rate monitors and books to the participants, further increasing her revenue.
The group developed a lot of commraderie and celebrated with a 3 hour ride at the end.
Stephanie had these points to make about the group training program. "This program was great for outdoor cyclists who wanted to prepare for an event later in the year. It added structure and routine to their training. It gave them a plan. It was a great way to introduce heart rate to cyclists, some of whom had never worn a heart rate monitor before."
The participants just loved it! The really enjoyed getting a "training plan" because they had never received a training plan before at their club. The group training program gave them a reason to ride and structure. Of Stephanie's group, about 30% of the participants went on to ride in California's summer century rides outdoors.
Her participants specifically mentioned how they enjoyed getting their four emails a week. The Sunday email, which laid out the workouts for the week was their favorite because it gave their week structure. They also enjoyed some of the heart rate articles and motivational stories.
The administration of the program was easy to learn, according to Stephanie. It took about a week to get in the habit of when to send out the emails, which were provided in the CDRom, making sending the information as easy as cut and paste.
In the end, both Trainer and participants cited the group commraderie as the best feature of the program. "We really bonded as a group and everyone got so much out of this program", said Stephanie. Our 3 hour indoor ride as our culminating event was really fun.
