Push Yourself With Foot Pods & Zones to Reach Your Goals
Whether you’re new to fitness, or want to switch up your current workout routine, there’s always additional ways to boost your performance. One way is to use exercise trackers, also known as fitness trackers, usually including foot pods and accelerometers. One of our favorite exercise trackers is the Heart Zones Boltt Strider. This exercise tracker replaces old school pedometers that aren’t always accurate and that miss out on important data like pace zones, calories burned, speed, distance, and %MVPA. Another way to motivate and push yourself further is with zone training and heart rate training. Zone training is at the core of our company’s training methodology, broken into three methods: ZONING, Threshold, and Maximum heart rate method.
Here, we’re going to share more about our two ways to improve your workouts with 1) the Heart Zones Boltt Strider, and 2) our ZONING method.
1) The Heart Zones Boltt Strider
One of the easiest ways to improve your performance while running, cycling, playing sports or doing other physical activities is wearing an exercise tracker. The Heart Zones Boltt Strider Step Sensor is a foot pod that analyzes and tracks essential metrics like distance, speed, stride length, cadence, pace, and calories, unlike other pedometers. We recommend using this fitness tracker everyday to enhance results in sports.

To Use It
Utilize the data that is captured by the Heart Zone Boltt Strider exercise tracker by downloading the Heart Zones Training App. Our workout app will help you set “striding zones” to measure your walking, jogging, and running. You can even share the data from your workout straight from the app.
2) ZONING Method with Heart Rate Zones
By using zone training, you’ll learn when to push yourself and when to rest. The ZONING program uses 3 heart rate zones to indicate the different levels of intensity and effort during a workout. Without a training method to reference during workouts, you may not know when your body can handle a few more minutes of running, or when it needs to slow down to a slower pace. Below, we’ll share a few different ways you can achieve your unique fitness goals using heart rate zones.

To Improve Performance
Want to get faster and improve your overall performance? Then the Red Zone is the right place for you. Training in the Red Zone burns the most calories and is a crucial zone for improving athletic performance. Try incorporating fast-paced cardio workouts, like circuits or sprints—or try anything that pushes you far out of your comfort zone. Just remember, you probably won’t be able to spend the majority of your workout in this zone because of the effort you exert.
To Improve Fitness
If your goal is to improve overall fitness, then the Yellow Zone is the right heart rate zone for you. This is a great area to focus on if you want to improve endurance and burn a lot of calories. Remember to wear one of our exercise trackers, the Blink 3.0 or the Blink 24, to see how much time you spend in the Yellow Zone on your Heart Zones Training app. The Yellow Zone provides you with the opportunity to lose weight, increase endurance, and improve heart health. Try incorporating workouts that keep you at a steady rate of effort, like a steady run or your favorite cardio exercise.
To Improve Health
Want to improve your health? The Blue Zone is the easiest of the three heart rate zones, but it’s a great area to be in for weight loss and lowering blood pressure, cholesterol levels, and body fat. While spending time in the Blue Zone improves your overall health and wellness, it does not increase aerobic capacity. If your goal is to focus on improving your overall health, then blue zone training is the perfect place for you to stay in for warm-ups, cool-downs, and activity recovery sets. Some of our favorite activities for this zone are yoga, stretches, and walking. For those who are recently returning to exercise or are new to a routine, learn how to stay in the Blue Zone using the Heart Zones Training app.
